1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Global Scenarios. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our interactive geospatial simulation platform, including our website at www.globalscenarios.io, application at app.globalscenarios.io, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country)
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
• Have a valid email address and authenticate via Google or GitHub

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must sign in using a Google or GitHub account to access certain features
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
• You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
• We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account

3.3 Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will be immediately revoked
• We may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period
• You may request a data export before termination

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Service to:

• Create and explore scenario-based future simulations
• Visualize geospatial data on an interactive globe
• Generate AI-powered insights and explanations
• Save, share, and export your scenarios and data
• Use the Service for educational, research, or policy analysis purposes

4.2 Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Violate the intellectual property rights of Global Scenarios or third parties
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) without permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Upload viruses, malware, or malicious code
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Collect or harvest personal information from other users
• Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited communications
• Create scenarios that promote violence, hatred, or discrimination
• Use AI-generated content to mislead or deceive others
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of scenarios, data, and other content you create using the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Store and process Your Content to provide the Service
• Display Your Content when you mark scenarios as "public"
• Use aggregated, anonymized data for research and service improvement

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to Your Content
• Your Content does not violate any laws or third-party rights
• Your Content does not contain confidential or proprietary information without authorization

5.2 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other content (excluding Your Content), is owned by Global Scenarios and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices
• Use our trademarks without permission

5.3 Public Scenarios

If you mark a scenario as "public":

• Other users may view and interact with your scenario via shared URLs
• We may feature your scenario in galleries or promotional materials
• You can change a scenario back to private at any time

5.4 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, we may use them without any obligation to you.

6. AI-Generated Content

6.1 Nature of AI Content

The Service uses AI-powered language models to generate explanations, insights, and scenario descriptions. AI-generated content:

• Is for informational purposes only, not advice or predictions
• May contain errors, inaccuracies, or biases
• Should not be relied upon as authoritative or factual
• Does not represent our views or opinions

6.2 Scenario Modeling Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: The Service provides scenario-based modeling, not predictions. All simulations are probabilistic and exploratory. Outputs represent possible futures under specific assumptions, not forecasts of actual events. Confidence decreases exponentially with time horizons. Do not use Service outputs for:

• Financial, investment, or business decisions
• Medical, legal, or professional advice
• Military, security, or defense planning
• Policy decisions without additional expert analysis

6.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• How you interpret and use AI-generated content
• Verifying information before relying on it
• Consulting qualified experts for important decisions
• Complying with applicable laws when using AI content

7. Third-Party Services

7.1 OAuth Providers

We use Google and GitHub for authentication. By using these services, you agree to their respective terms of service and privacy policies:

7.2 AI Service Providers

We use third-party AI services to generate content. These providers may have their own terms and privacy policies.

7.3 Data Sources

The Service uses data from various public sources (CIA World Factbook, World Bank, UN, IPCC, etc.). We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data.

8. Fees and Payment

8.1 Free Tier

We currently offer the Service free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future with advance notice.

8.2 Future Paid Plans

If we introduce paid plans, we will:

• Provide at least 30 days' notice
• Grandfather existing users into a free tier with reasonable limits
• Clearly communicate pricing and features
• Allow you to cancel before charges apply

9. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee:

You may export your scenarios and data at any time in the following formats:

• CSV: Tabular data export
• JSON: Full scenario and data export
• GeoJSON: Geographic feature collection
• PDF: Visual report with globe screenshots

Exported data is provided "as is" without warranty. You are responsible for how you use exported data.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to our privacy practices.

12. Disclaimers

12.1 "AS IS" Service

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
• Warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or completeness of data
• Warranties that the Service will be secure, error-free, or uninterrupted

12.2 No Professional Advice

The Service does not provide professional advice (financial, legal, medical, etc.). All content is for informational and educational purposes only.

12.3 No Predictions

The Service provides scenario-based modeling, not predictions of future events. All outputs are probabilistic and should not be interpreted as forecasts.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1 Damages Cap

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GLOBAL SCENARIOS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Personal injury or property damage
• Service interruptions or errors
• Reliance on AI-generated content
• Third-party actions or content

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM (OR $100 IF YOU HAVE PAID US NOTHING).

13.2 Jurisdictional Variations

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Global Scenarios and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
• Your Content or scenarios
• Your negligence or misconduct

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us to seek informal resolution. We will attempt to resolve disputes in good faith.

15.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15.3 Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except:

• Small claims court disputes
• Intellectual property disputes
• Injunctive or equitable relief

Arbitration will be conducted by a neutral arbitrator in accordance with [Arbitration Rules]. You waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in class actions.

15.4 Opt-Out

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.

Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms to any successor or affiliate.

16.5 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Global Scenarios regarding the Service.

16.6 Survival

Provisions that should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution) will remain in effect after termination.
